This is the first book of Miss Grimm I read. It surprised me in a very good way. The story develops slowly giving you time to meet the characters and know what happens inside them. The innuendo that keeps Noah and Isa fighting to touch each other though she has serious problems with touching, give you the chance to feel the love that's growing with each time they meet. Both help each other to solve some sad problems that keep holding their lives in a stand by. I'd like to read a bit more about their lives once they sort all the problems they went through, anyway , it was a really good story, I'll read the next book of these series.
Good story. Not the typical fluffy "rocker romance" I usually read. There are no groupies, and no wild parties. Just good characters who happen to be musicians. I thought the characters themselves were very well defined--especially the h. Very nice build up to the romance, perfect amount of spice, and very emotional at times. I was pleasantly surprised with the suspense/mystery aspect. Flow was interesting--different. It reminded me a little of the way Cynthia Eden writes. I see a second story is going to be coming out about one of the bandmates--I am looking forward to its release.
Holy OMG! Izzy broke my freaking heart with everything she had gone through all her life. I cried because although her story was not my own, I felt as if it could be. Anyone could be that girl to hide away from life due to a tragedy. Although she tried to stay out of the focus of everyone and everything, Noah pulled her out of her shell to show her that love without pain exists. Real love without hatred, and abuse exists, and Noah took the time to show her exactly that. She fights as much as she can with her words and thoughts, but her heart knows the truth, and she finally accepts it. I loved Noah, even though he pushes Izzy a bit too far. I loved Izzy, even though she pushes Noah a bit too far away. They finally see how much their love means, and gets on track to creating their own happiness. Fantastic read.
This is the 1st book of this author's that I have read & I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone as each book is about a different character
I really enjoyed this book. It was romantic and sexy without the sex overwhelming the storyline, which happens all to often. The characters developed a relationship instead of insta passionate sex. How refreshing. If I had a single complaint it would be that I figured out early on who the stalker was and why. Loved that Noah was such a standup guy. Looking forward to her next book.
It's really good to read a rocker story that isn't YA and different from other rock star romance stories. Noah is a 41 year old rock star trying for a comback. Isa is young but mature beyond her years. I disagree with other reviewers that the characters were no developed. I think Sarah did a wonderful job in developing not only Noah and Isa but the supporting characters as well. I usually detest weak, lame, whiny protagonists and some may think of Isabeau as one but you have to think outside of the norm with Isa because of her gift. Who knows the mind of a child prodigy? Difficult to say but I think Sarah did a good job of developing Isa and portray the difficulties of being in the spot light.

Noah was difficult to gauge but in the end what he did to get Isa to come around made a lot of sense. At first it seemed as if he was being selfish but it turns out his selfishness was in the love that he had for Isa. I LOVED Dom. I also bought his book Midnight Heat and it was equally good. It was great catching up with Isa and Noah too. You will love it.

I love a good rock star read, and I bought this book on a whim after seeing the description. I was pleasantly surprised to find that although Noah is the lead singer of a band staging a comeback, it is not the primary driver of the story. Instead it is intertwined with the story of Isabeau who has experienced a lot of tragedy over the years and who has learned to lock it all away in the hopes that she can go on about her life quietly. Those hopes are rapidly thrown out the window when Noah walks into her bar- suddenly she starts to hear music speaking to her again and she starts to feel again, more strongly than before. I enjoyed following their journey and I look forward to reading the stories of the rest of Black Phoenix band members.
