I have read many of Kat Martin's books and continue to really enjoy them. If you love romantic period stories you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!
The first in this wonderful series by Kat Martin. If you get a chance and want a wonderful read you will purchase these. Once you start you are enmeshed immediately and just want the story to continue and not end. I would highly recommend!

Kat must have had a lot of fun writing this!! As with the characters, there is a lot to learn about each other and the ways of people during the 1888 era. Delightful story with love and strong personal responsibilities.

This was such a fun book to read. Kat Martin brought me through all kinds of emotional stuff but it turned out happily - thank heavens! We romantics really need that HEA, after all. The story took place in England in the mid-1800s, when most women of "decent" background didn't work outside the home, but this one did. The pull of honorable duty to both families was at the crux of the problem here. There was excitement, anguish, sexiness, a great, handsome hero, an independent and smart heroine,sad and awful things to gnash one's teeth over - I loved it. Now I'll be looking for the other two books to the trilogy.
i wish I'd read the story in the order it was written. I am sure this should have been a 5 star but because I read Heart of Fire first I knew a good deal of the plot of this one and it kind of made it harder. The in no way compromises the wonderful story that this is, but it makes it harder for me to give it a five star rating.

I love Krista and her Viking Leif. I especially like the manner in which she found him. I did however think their final getting together and married was a little dragged out. But I still loved the story.

I hope you will give this one a try but , Read it before Heart of Fire.
